Lantern Path Games

Free games to play with friends

You can play with friends on Lantern Path Games without accounts or chat. 3 games have online co-op: one player makes a private room and shares a four letter code. Blaster Squad also lets two players share one keyboard. Any game with a score can make a challenge link, and the Daily Challenge gives everyone the same game.

Online co-op with a room code

Dart Showdown, Blaster Squad, Boarded Up can be played together on different computers. Press Play with a friend on the game's start card to make a private room, then give your friend the four letter code. There is no chat and no typing between players, no accounts and no public matchmaking, and rooms close when the game ends.

Two players, one keyboard: Blaster Squad

Knockout platform shooter: raise your rivals' percent, then blast them off the stage. Two players can share one keyboard, or join online with a room code. Player one uses W A S D to move and J to fire. Player two uses the arrow keys and the number pad. The Friends menu inside the game has a how to play together screen and a local knockout or heats tournament for 2 to 8 players, with names kept in memory on that device only. Players three and four need game pads.

Challenge a friend with a link

Finish a round in any game that shows a score and press Challenge a friend on the results card. You get a link with your score inside it. When your friend opens it they see a banner saying whose score to beat, and the results card tells them if they won. A nickname is optional. There is no chat and nothing is posted anywhere unless you send the link yourself.

Everyone plays the same game: the Daily Challenge

The Daily Challenge picks one game a day, the same for everybody, and a new one starts at midnight in Brisbane. Play it, share your result and compare with your friends.

Quick games for taking turns

Pass the device, play one round each and compare scores. These are rated Everyone, with a typical round of a minute and a half or less.

Badges for sharing

Opening a friend's invite link counts toward badges on your My badges page. Badges live in your browser only.

Questions

Can I play online with friends in real time?

Yes, in 3 games: Dart Showdown, Blaster Squad, Boarded Up. One player presses Play with a friend and gets a private four letter room code, and friends on other computers type that code to join. There is no chat, no accounts and no public matchmaking, so only people you give the code to can join.

How does a challenge link work?

Finish a round in a game that shows a score, then press Challenge a friend on the results card. It makes a link with your score in it. A friend who opens the link sees your score as a target to beat. You can add a short nickname of up to 12 letters or numbers, which travels inside the link only.

Does it need an account or a username?

No. There are no accounts. A nickname is optional and only appears inside the link you send.

Can I use an Xbox or PlayStation controller?

Yes in some games. Plug in or pair a controller and the How to play panel shows its buttons. It has been checked in Dart Showdown, Flatpack, Factory Escape, Sleepover Siege, Pie Drop, Redoubt, Sticker Sniper, Blaster Squad, Market Stampede, Floor Is Lava, Toy Tank Takedown. Games that are aimed with a mouse are harder to play on a controller.

Can two people play on one device?

Yes in Blaster Squad: player one uses W A S D and J, player two uses the arrow keys, and there is a local tournament for 2 to 8 names. Players three and four need game pads. Other games here are single player, but quick score games work well for taking turns.
